Secrets

These are things you get after you accomplish a certain thing in the game, as opposed to a button cheat like in the Codes Section.

Characters

Jigglypuff - Once you get Captain Falcon, beat 1P Mode to battle Jigglypuff. If you win, you get Jigglypuff!

Luigi - Beat all of the Bonus Stage 1 levels with the eight standard characters to get challenged by him.

Captain Falcon - The easiest of them all. Beat 1P mode in 15 minutes or less to get challenged by Captain Falcon. You win, you get to play as him.

Ness - Probably the most difficult of them all. Beat 1P Mode with Normal Difficulty, Stock of three. Of course there is a catch. YOU CAN'T CONTINUE. Believe me, he's worth it.

Other Stuff

Sound Test - Beat Bonus Stage 1 and Bonus Stage 2 with all twelve characters.

Item Switch - Very useful. Allows you to set the frequency of items falling in VS Mode and which ones can fall. Get this by playing 100 rounds in VS Mode.
Slight change to this, by Jhon Gordon, who says it takes about 40 rounds. My game got erased so I had to do this again, I think it is 50.

Mushroom Kingdom - Fun level. Earn this by beating the game with all eight characters and playing a game in each multiplayer level.

Melee Secrets

Unlock Mewtwo - Confirmed

Play vs. mode for 20 combined hrs. (or 5 with four players), or 700 times to get mewtwo.

Unlock Pichu

First, complete 30 event mode challenges. Then, unlock Jigglypuff, Luigi, Dr, Mario, Falco, & Young Link. Then, go and complete the 37th Event Mode challenge. Whomp the rodent and he's yours.

Unlock Luigi

This one is pretty hard. In Adventure mode, complete Mushroom Kingdom in a time where the seconds dial ends in a two, Example: 5:02.75. Then, a cutscene appears of Luigi and Mario. Defeat Luigi and Peach in under 45 seconds without losing a life. Then complete Adventure mode, kick the tar out of Luigi again, and he's yours.

Unlock Dr. Mario

Complete Classic mode without continuing with Mario, or complete Adventure Mode with Mario without losing a life, OR play 100 versus mode matches. After any one of these is completed, defeat Dr. Mario, and you've got him.

Unlock Young Link

Complete Classic Mode with ten characters, two of which have to be Link and Zelda, or complete 500 Versus mode matches. Send this young one to the moon, and he'll join the ranks.

Unlock Prince Marth

Complete Classic Mode with all 14 of the default characters, or use them all in Versus mode, OR complete 50 Versus' matches. Knock him to next week, and he's all yours.

Unlock Roy

Unlock Prince Marth, then, using him, either complete Classic mode without losing a life, or Adventure mode without continuing. Whomp the tar out of Roy when he challenges you, and he's yours for the keeping.

Unlock Ganondorf

Complete the 29th Event Mode challenge, then defeat Ganondorf when he comes. He'll be added to your arsenal afterwards.

Unlock Falco Lombardi

Complete the 100-man Melee, and send Falco flying when he comes up. Or, he will also come up after 300 Versus matches. He's yours.

Unlock Jigglypuff

As easy as the first. Beat Classic or Adventure mode with any character, and send the puff flying. Easy.

Unlock Mr. Game & Watch

Probably the most obscure character in the game, you can get him by beating either Classic or Adventure Mode with all of the other 24 characters. Send him into next week, and he's yours.

Bonus Stages

Eagleland: Complete 100 Versus matches.

Final Destination: Complete all 51 Event Mode challenges.

F-Zero: Big Blue: Complete 150 Versus matches.

Kanto Skies: Complete 200 Versus matches.

Kongo Jungle: Complete the 15-Minute Melee.

Mushroom Kingdom II: Complete Classic Mode with Peach without losing a life.

Planet Zebes: Brinstar Depths: Complete 50 Versus matches.

Pupupu Land: Complete the Target Test with all 25 Characters.

Yoshi's Island: Hit the Home Run Contest sandbag over 1,200 feet.

Superflat World: Flat Zone: Mr. Game & Watch's strange world. Complete the 45th event, or Classic Mode with Mr. Game & Watch.

Play as Theresa

Play as Fox in 1 player mode any setting. When fighting Link, Throw a homerun bat off the edge. You will then be able to play as Mario and Luigi's sister Theresa. She can kill anybody in one attack. It works. All my friends refuse to play me at Smash because I always use Theresa and kill them quickly. I never thought anything like this existed but it does. Trust me.
(Trust you. Oh, ok. Mmhmm. I haven't gotten a homerun bat in first player mode with Fox since I started looking for one after getting this code, so I don't know that for sure it is fake. Tell Me if you find one and throw it off.

500% Damage with Mario (CONFIRMED!)

First, go in to training mode as Mario. Choose anybody as your opponent. Choose any stage. Get as close as you can get to your opponent. Make 4 red shells appear and press Down+B(Mario Tornado). Then your opponent's and your own damage meter will rise until it reaches like 500%.At least your damage meter will rise. If it doesn't work, please e-mail me. Because I'm sure that this works!

Kill the Man-Eating Plant - Confirmed!

To send the damn man eating plant that comes out of the pipes on the secret mario level sky high, go to training mode and play as whoever you want. go to the secret level, stand by the pipe and make a hammer appear. Grab the hammer and walk away from the pipe( only a few steps) when you see the plant appear run to the pipe. you will see it fly away. This code is not a fake code, i had a lot of fun watching the stupid plant fly away.
(I know it isn't fake, this can also be done by rock dropping it with kirby in any mode, not just training).

Home Run Hit - Confirmed!

There is only one and only one weapon in the game that can kill a person that has 0% hit damage with one hit. It is the home run bat. If you happen to get one, all you have to do is your forward smash attack. You will then see your character hit a home run with your opponent. Don't believe me? You can go to training mode to make it a whole lot easier because you can make your opponent stand still.

To see ness's skeleton you first go vs mode and pick samus aran then you pick ness go to any level and use samus's canon and hit ness then push pause when you hit ness and then you will see ness's skeleton

Make Kirby look like Clefairy - Confirmed

Get a Kirby in the character selection screen and set the computer or other player as Jigglypuff. Suck up Jigglypuff and get his power, then he will look like Clefairy. This one really works I've tried it. It's pretty cool.

Double Damage with Yoshi - Confirmed

Do you know that Yoshi can do double damage? First you have to go to Dream Land. Make sure that your enemy is on a platform. Then jump and use Yoshi's drill kick on him. The enemy should have about 80% damage. This sure takes practice but it works!

to make jigglypuff big go to training mode and fight pika vs jigglypuff(you) and turn down the speed and stand next to pika and drop 4 red shells nd put pika to sleep and then reset and persto! Instant giant jigglypuff.

ok this one is EASY its flying with mario THE RIGHT WAY you don't have to do the 999 thing or any other shit, just use mario tornado and tap B very fast, an AUTO controller would work best, at least it works for me, ITS GREAT! U CAN USE IT FOR 4 jumps!, jump, jump, tornado, uppercut! it also works with luigi.

JigglyPuff-To make this a lot easier use sing to put the enemy to sleep then get right up close to them and press down-B, if done right you will here a schreeching sound and the opponent will fly up in the air and even fly off the screen if the damage is high enough.

Luigi-Press up-B when you are right against the enemy, you will here a screeching sound if done right.

Fall through Planet Zebes - Confirmed

The only place to do this is Samus' s level. The only thing you need to do is get a star. Now try walking through the acid. (Warning it's possible to fall out of the course.)

DO YOU KNOW THAT NESS CAN REFLECT STUFF? FOX IS NOT THE ONLY ONE TO REFLECT STUFF. TO HAVE NESS REFLECT THE STUFF (MARIO'S FIREBALLS, LINK'S BOOMERANG, ETC.) HIT IT WITH THE BAT (NOT THE HOME RUN BAT, NESS'S BAT). IF DONE RIGHT, THE STUFF SHOULD GO BACK TO ENEMY WHO SHOT IT!

Please Note: If the code has not been confirmed (it says something along the lines of "Can't do this one" underneath it) then I have not been able to accomplish this code. Many of the codes and secrets are complete fakes, sorry about that. People are idiots.
Oh, this is beautiful! I have a code that claims if you channel your psychic energy and think really hard then pikachu will disappear from your screen. This is one of the most pathetic ones I've seen yet!
OK, forget the Pikachu one, this one is great! It bothers me that I have to waste my time reading these but this one was so worth it, most people give me sucky one line ones but this person really tried, you have to see this:
To get a special character that looks like you, play single player mode on any settings and stick your face on the screen for the whole time. Then, after you beat master hand, a character that looks like YOU will appear on the versus mode character select. Depending on you're Astronomical Sign (Cancer, Leo ect..) You will have different powers! I'm a LEO and I get to do a lot of cool moves only LEO' s get to do. This is the coolest code I've seen yet. my friend taught it to me this code when I went to his house today. He's a Scorpio and I'm a Leo and he beat me bad. He's a pretty funny person. His hair is brown and he's got lots of freckles. Well it's a cool code. Thanks
